Jarmila Krecmanova

Born 6.10.1956
She graduated from the Faculty of Education of Palacky University in
Olomouc, Czech Republic. She is devoted to ceramics since 1991 when she
started making utility pottery on potters wheel (cups, candlesticks, bowls
etc.). She gradually moved to making vases, small figural sculptures and
hanging tiles. Her first exhibition took place in the National History and
Geography Museum in Olomouc in Autumn 1997- she presented her
columns with heads” - these figural sculptures, about 2 m high, are the basis
of her today’s work. Concerning the surface finish, Mrs. Krecmanova
prefers austerity in hues. Therefore the structure and perfectly worked out
details stand out.

Her works can be found in private collections not only in the Czech
Republic, but also abroad - in the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Holland,
France, Italy, Germany and Greece. Mrs. Krecmanova supplies her pieces to
galleries in Olomouc, Prostejov, Mohelnice, Dvur Králové, Prague and
Victoria, Canada.
